Day 64 in English
Yeah, I promised an English version, so here is the first English-language entry!
It´s going to be a fairly short update, because I really didn´t do anything else than relaxing in Tecolutla. I had to leave Papantla quite fast, partly because of the unbearable heat and partly because of the terrible hotel where I was staying. But Papantla was nice for a day and a visit to Tajin is essential if you are traveling in this area (the state of Veracruz).
I arrived in Tecolutla around 1 PM, after an one-hour busride. There I spent my time reading George Orwell´s 1984, swimming in the pool (yeah, in a 120 peso hotel!) and swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. There are much worse ways to spent 24 hours!
I spent some time with the local marine turtles and took some very beautifull pictures of them. I really hope to see them soon in the wild, when I go out snorkeling or diving in de Caribean. At the moment I´m in Xalapa, about 4 hours south of Tecolutla. Xalapa is at 1200 meters (4000 feet) altitude, so the climate is much more bearable than up north. In fact, it´s perfect to walk around the city and check out the local nightlife, which I´m going to do right now!
